I sold an item (Tuner for a vehicle) to a buyer. I have a no return policy. He contacts me within 18 hours after receiving the item stating it doesn't work and wants a refund and for me to pay for return shipping. I tell him that it does work and there is no way it doesn't. He says it doesn't and he will get his money one way or another and keep the item. Within a few minutes of him sending me that email he filed a claim that I won't refund and it is a defect item. In our communications I never once told him that I wouldn't refund his money, if it truly didn't work. I told him he would have to install an update from Diablo so it would communicate with the type of car he has. He refused say he wants to return it. In the mean time calling me a liar, a fraud etc. From the start he was agressive, and a down right bully. IHe immediately (within 6 hours of the first email) tried to pull the money back out of my paypal account. I finally received the tuner back, thankfully in the same condition I sent it. As soon as I got the package, I recorded it being opened and immediately connected it to a vehicle to show that it works exactly as it should and as I described. I mentioned this to the buyer and he flipped stating he was getting his money one way or another. I also sent the evidence to Ebay. (once again, never did I stated I wouldn't refund his money) Ebay told me I should just return his money and be grateful it is in the same condition as I sent it. Even though he was clearly lying and had buyers remorse. Ebay did tell me I didn't have to refund any shipping. So I contacted him and told him that I sent the evidence to ebay, and what they said. I go into my paypal account so I could pull the funds back out of my bank account. Within seconds I get another abusive email from him calling me a liar and that he is reporting me as fraud to his credit card. This is ridiculous it has only been FIVE days since HE got the item!! Is there anything that his credit card company can do to me? As of now, I am not doing anything further. I don't know what to do. It literally has been 5 days since he received the item and I got it in my hands yesterday I am in Hawaii, he is in Boston. You have to think about travel time, and not to mention the time it takes to put money back into paypal. Beside the fact that the item is in perfect working condition, and he lied about that!! Any advice would be appreciated. Should I get a lawyer?
