@kernowlass wrote: You may find that they do have a way of getting the funds back from you.   If you don't pay off a negative balance then the debt is sold on to a debt collection company that may well be banging on your front door or work address, so be careful. Is that right?  And how would they do that?  What do debt collection agents do that FORCES me to give them money? I mean - besides writing me pathetically worded letters of home visit threats.   The debt CAN be sold to a debt company, you're right.  I suggest they do it and then realise the actual lose rather than keeping it on their books.    If they call to my work address then they know they will be taken to court for harrassment - that kind of behaviour is illegal.    Also, I've moved country and they have no idea of my new country/address. Tell me again how they will have another way of getting it back from me?      Please stop trying to threaten me.  I'm still **bleep** my pants laughing.         Let this be a lesson to PayPal and eBay - treat your customers right or you'll end up getting **bleep** harder than you have ever **bleep** the customers 🙂 ... @kernowlass wrote: Its easy enough to get photo id AND proof of address so why not just do as requested??       Just because it is "easy enough" doesn't mean they should get it.   If it was THAT important, why didn't PayPal ask for it BEFORE they opened an account?  It's just an excuse to hold onto funds and make interest from it.   It's easy enough to kill Jews - it doesn't mean you should just do it if a Nazi requests you to.      And yes, I did just compare PayPal to the Nazis.  If you've ever spoken to customer services, you'd understand. ... @PayPal_paula wrote: Hi charlieforniaa,   This sounds a little frustrating. If you are unable to fulfill the orders without being able to access the funds then I would recommend to contact us by phone again to advise of this. This way we can review and maybe give you the option to refund the payments instead.   To contact us by phone just click on the contact us link at the bottom of any PayPal page.   Thanks Paula     In what planet does that help the poster?  Giving them the option (oh, how very generous of you) to refund the money?   So they've just started a business and you're suggesting they disappoint their first set of customers?      Paula, are you sure you're not going paid by PayPal to be that stupid? I'd be embarrassed to be THAT stupid and not get paid for it. ... View more

The standard review time is 24 – 72 hours. If you are waiting longer, please consider contacting us via phone. In this way we will be able to review your account and help you resolve the matter. To speed up the process, please make sure you’ve provided all information you’ve been asked for before contacting us. Hope it helps. Anna   Anna,  I can't believe you're being a complict slave to PayPal; you're not even being paid to peddle the bulshit that they peddle to customers. The whole timeframe is a lie and you know it.  The fact people are on here complaining that the time frame isn't being adheard to is proof of that. Don't embarass yourself. I bet your parents are ashamed of going along with ripping honest people off.  You could be doing somethign positive with your life.   ... View more

Laughing at PayPal

I sold my old MacBook Pro on eBay over a month ago.  After THREE buyers wasting my time and not paying, I finally had a legit buyer.    He paid straight away and as soon as I got the email to say the money was paid, I logged in to see that my money was put on hold.    I was going to use that money to pay for shipping but because it was on hold I wasn't able to ship it.  Also, judging by the fact that I've had 3 suspicious buyers, I wasn't sending anything until I had access to the funds.    I was told by PayPal to mark item as dispatched and I'd get the funds released 7~ days later.    The money WAS released and I made a withdraw to my account so I could pay for the shipping and be done with it.    Withdrawal was successful (would be in my account in 72 hours) so I went to sleep.  I woke up to find that PayPal had said that my bank account "wasn't recieving the funds" and they reversed it charging me a fee for the privilage. I called the bank and they said PayPal were lying.    As soon as they reversed the transaction they put a hold on my account saying that because I had more than £2000 paid in to my account in the last year (I hadn't) then I needed to provide a plethora of extra information - which I wasn't going to do.    So anyway, my PayPal account was already £170~ overdrawn; as I was going to sell my laptop anyway, I was going to just let the funds cover that rather than have to send money from my account.    Obviously PayPal have been useless in the whole process and every single "advisor" I have spoken to have been rude, obnoxious and TOTALLY unhelpful - I would describe them as a waste of human skin.    Anyway, I advised the buyer to file a case to get his money back after I had explained the situation to which he has.    PayPal are now down nearly £190~ with no way of getting it back from me and I'm **bleep** myself laughing.   If they had just helped as I expected them to then this wouldn't have happened.  I have since found numerous websites dedicated to exposing how useless and fraudulant PayPal/eBay is and I'm glad they aren't getting all the money from me.     **bleep** PayPal.   Edit:  Apparently PayPal censor the word "Sc.rew".  Get a grip. ... I'm so sick of PayPal ripping me off.

Sold my MacBook on eBay (4 times because of suspicious buyers). PayPal held on to funds. I called and said I wasn't shipping £900 laptop until the money was available ("sorry it's policy that you get treated like a common criminal" was their response). The availability estimate date was today. I saw it was available (thank god) and withdrew as I needed to pay bills and pay for postage. Now my withdraw has been reversed and my account has limits on. They're asking me for all sorts of information that I do not have - it's lucky I haven't sent my laptop yet. I'm considering calling the police for this blatant abuse of powers; not to mention theft. I'm never using PayPal again. ... View more
