In PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/wallet) it lists the following:
Bank Account
(removed for security purposes)
Credit and Debit Cards
(removed for security purposes)
(removed for security purposes)
For my linked bank account, the debit card used (ending in (removed for security purposes)) at the time of account setup is longer valid due to fraud. The Visa card ending in (removed for security purposes) is the new debit card and the number I want associated with my linked bank account. How do I change the card number associated with my linked bank account? I can find no method to accomplish this.
I completely understand the difference between linked bank accounts and credit/debit cards on file. I understand that the debit card used at the time of account setup was given primarily as a security measure. However, when paying for a transaction and asked how I wish to pay for it using PayPal I have and will ONLY select “Instant bank payment” and do not want my old debit card showing as the account number. (Per PayPal's terms it CAN be used as a backup payment method.) I will not select “Debit card” as the payment method. If I have to cancel my PayPal account and set up another account to accomplish this, fine, but I will not have my old debit card number being associated with my linked bank account.
