also after i've started to use ebay for paying for my items postage ( which is SOOO much easier to use) if i want to refund or check someone's details when you go onto paypal activity/summary page there is NO WAY of telling which postage transaction is which.  the numbers ebay use is totally different to the numbers that come up as a ID or transaction of paypal.  there is NO CORRELATION between the 2 sites which makes it EXTREMELY annoying and bloody stupid when I'm trying to ID someone's ID details to say issue postage refund.  How do i sort this out.  Karen ... I too have grown tired of this nonsense when buyers request to cancel their order just mere minutes after placing it. We're left on the hook relisting the item (losing search engine standing) and then paying the ridiculous 30 cent transaction fee to PayPal, while the buyer gets 100% of their money back and goes on their merry way. The buyer is clearly at fault for this, and THEY should (at minimum) absorb this 30 cent fee for changing their mind.   A few times, I've went ahead and just shipped the item anyway. In doing so, it closes out their cancellation request and if they want to return it, they'll be on the hook for the return shipping AND the 20% restocking fee that I charge. Granted, they COULD claim snad, leave a neg, etc... but it's getting to the point where I just don't care anymore. Multiple times now I've had buyers request to cancel just moments after placing the order, and I just send the item anyway and refuse the cancellation. They receive the item(s), and I never hear back from them again.   eBay is making it too easy for idiots to buy things and then cancel because they find it cheaper, change their mind, etc. This is eBay... not Wal-Mart. I'm tired of the nonsense and catering to idiotic buyers who are indecisive and don't bother to read anything before hitting the "buy" button. ... View more

@chas1954   When someone pays you, you get a % fee plus a fixed fee. When you refund the % fee is refunded but the fixed fee is what you pay to have paypal accept the initial payment for you and then to refund it again for you. They are providing you with a service, you pay for it. ... View more

First off, they don't monitor this forum.   I've been with PayPal for 17 years, been with a few others at the same time. The others have been shut down, or been scams or cheated people out of money or just closed for no reason without notice, or changed ownership and name change over and over. I've been lucky and never lost any money to any of them, but many people lost thousands with some of them.   I've never lost a dime with PayPal. Though I don't always agree with things they change on the site, I trust them completely. Learn the new site, it's not that hard. After awhile you'll forget about the classic veiw and get on with this one just the same. Change isn't always easy at first.   I prefer the classic also, but am learning the new one, it's not so bad. It's like learning anything else, it take time to perfect it. I trust PayPal. ... View more
