Recently my wife and I upgraded our credit cards. In the past I have had both credit cards on my account and my wife has had only her credit card on her account. As there was nothing on the paypal site that said I could not do this again I added both card numbers to my account. When I went to add it to my wife's account it was not allowed and subsequetly got blocked for good. I tried deleting it off of my account so it could be put on her account as suggested on this form but that did not work. Customer service told me that the system blocked my wife's card and they could not override the system. I find it incredibly hard to believe that Paypal could create a system that could not be overriden. I felt like I was being treated like a guilty party that was trying to scam Pay Pal. In fact, I felt this was insinulated by more that one of the service reps I talked to. If there was a note on the site or a pop up saying that security measures had changed I would suck up my mistake and order my wife a new card and enter that number. However, the manager that I finally was allowed to talk to after 4 days of calls told me there was no such warning on the site. It would be as simple as a popup saying, "once you add a card to one account it cannot be added to another. Proceed?" The manager told me this was an updated security feature. We provided all the security information that they asked for and yet they still could not (or would not) help. Has anyone else had this problem with PayPal and if so, was it ever sorted out in your favour? I have been a member of PayPal since 2006 and did not feel like I was treated like a valued member. I felt like I was treated like a security threat (and potential scammer) to the system because I wanted the card unblocked after a mistake I made. We will be seriously considering another form of online payment tool as I cannot put my trust in an algorithm.
