With PayPal, there's a 60 day window for doing refunds via the transaction record.   After that, you would have to use the Send Money feature which can be used at your discretion..   Technically, the Buyer has a 45 day window from the date of the transaction to open a dispute requesting a refund.  If they paid using a credit card, most card issues offer a 60 to 90 day period.     As for 7 years .... don't think you should worry about that. ...
