I have a similar problem - a bank statement that shows a Paypal payment that I can't identify. I have NO transactions on my Paypal account in the past two months. I followed the advice and reported the transaction through Resolution Centre. That's hard, because the web-page expects you to identify a transaction on your Paypal account, NOT on your BANK account. So I used the Other option and entered the details in the text box. 24 hours later I got an email from Paypal rejecting my claim and suggesting that if I wanted to "see the documents they had used" I should write to an address in Atlanda by snail mail. That's unhelpful and unprofessional. Maybe it's a legitimate payment that used anonymous Paypal but which I have forgotten, but there seems to be no way to get PayPal to tell me who the recipient is. So I'm left with no choice but to charge the payment back as a fraud, through my bank, and wait to see who complains. It's unsatisfactory.
