I had a very unpleasant interaction with a dishonest seller on eBay. My first in 15 years. This seller shipped me an item that was described as "new" (and received the auction price as though it were new) but the item was quite used. Ebay is pretty picky about those things, and I contacted the seller. Seller admitted she knew it was used, but justified this because she needed the money, and wanted it to sell for the new price, and believed the item to be still quite useful in its used state, and besides, she'd spent a lot of money on it when it was new and none of her buyers had ever complained before -- and she doesn't believe this practice to be dishonest. RIDICULOUS. I went through the dispute resolution which was lengthy, and in the end, agreed to a partial refund from the seller. The dispute was then "closed" through ebay. Then, the seller reversed the refund. When I click on the transaction number in Paypal, it just says "Removed." Ebay says the matter is closed and resolved since I agreed to the refund, and Paypal's site says that since the payment doesn't have a confirmed address attached to it, that it isn't a protected transaction. The fact that it was a partial refund is irrelevant, as are (apparently) the terms she agreed to in eBay's dispute resolution. Help!!
