Paypal is great to use. When you sent your parcel it should have been sent registered so it had to be signed for by the buyer. A scammer will only bother to claim if they know there is no proof it was received by them. If it was sent registered then chase up the paperwork. Once you have the evidence showing that it arrived and was in fact collected you will get your money back. I sell and buy through Paypal all the time but I protect myself from such things like you experienced happening to me. When you advertise an item for sale state clearly in your add that the item will be sent registered. The cost is paid for by the buyer and should be factored into the price you are after. By doing this the scammers won't bother as they know they won't get away with it.
