Go to the send money tab in your paypal account > click on the "gift/family/friends" option > imput your friends paypal email address that identifies their paypal account (make sure you put it in correctly or you may lose the money). Make sure you select the currency you want to send them and if its euros then before you click submit it will tell you how much in sterling will be debited from your funding source. If you fund the payment via funds in your paypal balance OR instant bank transfer then its free. If you fund it with a debit or credit card there is a small fee they will show you before you agree to pay.
