So I recieved this email from paypal a few days ago: Hello Pixel Host, We are writing in regards to your PayPal account. PayPal appreciates that you have chosen us to accept payments for your organisation. As part of PayPal’s Compliance Program, we request that organisations provide certain information. The verification process is a requirement of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws in Australia, in accordance with which every financial institution in Australia, including PayPal Pty Limited, has to comply. Please review the following link for more information regarding the AML laws for Business Accounts: https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/confirm-your-business. In order to complete the review process, please submit the following items: * The Certificate of Business Name Registration or Record of Registration for Business Name for Pixel Host. This must contain any/all registered trade names and be issued by the appropriate State/Territory government entity/agency. Please ensure that the documentation you provide is valid and legible. Scanned documents should be in colour (if possible) and in their original size. We will use these documents to validate the data we have on file for you. You can upload scanned documentation or print a fax cover sheet in the Resolution Centre. The Resolution Centre can be accessed by logging into your PayPal account. If you are faxing the information, please provide the requested information to (02) 8023 8336 ATTN: Compliance – Due Diligence. Please be sure to include your email address on the cover sheet of your fax or letter. I then did what they asked and got another email: Hello Pixel Host, We are writing in regards to your PayPal account. To learn about the documentation that is needed for Business Accounts please see https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/confirm-your-business. We have noted the ABN registered to the PayPal account is owned by Gordon David Hall (90560560751). As the ABN is not registered to your name, this account may not continue to be used to receive payments for Pixel Host. In order to continue the review process, please submit the following items: 1. Please complete the "Confirm Identity" process. To complete this process please log into your PayPal account then visit the Resolution Centre of your account and select the "Resolve" action next to the step that asks for "Confirm Identity." Once Resolve is selected, please follow the online instructions accordingly. 2. Please provide one of the following: a) Authorise PayPal to close this PayPal account; or b) Authorise PayPal to downgrade the account to a Personal or Premier Account. Please state which account type you would prefer (personal or premier) and state that you will not continue to use this account for & provide information on how you will use the account going forward. Note: If Gordon David Hall requires a PayPal account for their business, they will need to open their own Business PayPal account in their own name & company trade name: . So I don't think they like the fact that my ABN is under my name and the paypal account is under my wife's name. I then emailed them this: Hi Paypal, My paypal account is actually in my wife's name. Rather than setting up another another account, can we change the name to Gordon Hall? We used that paypal account because we already had it setup and simply upgraded it to business thinking it would be fine. I'd be happy to change account details to my name (Gordon Hall) if that can happen. Regards, Gordon Still no reply after 48 hours. What plan of action should I take? I've heard of people loosing money because of similar issues. Any help would be appreciated! 🙂
