Hello, I am the Treasurer of an elementary school PTA. We have a Paypal business account and we have buttons on our website for our Direct Donation program that runs all year long (one button for recurring payments, one button for one-time donations). Every year we have a jog-a-thon fundraiser that has always accepted donations via cash or check only. The chairpeople of the event this year have asked if we can start accepting donations via Paypal. I need to ensure that we will be able to differentiate donations for the Direct Donation campaign from donations that are intended for the jog-a-thon. Am I correct in assuming that if we create a new button to be used on the jog-a-thon webpage, we will be able to know which donations came from that button and which came from the Direct Donation button? I see that we can specify a Donation ID for the button, but I don't see anywhere in the reports or the overview screen where that Donation ID shows up. I am new at using Paypal for business purposes, so it's entirely possible I'm just not looking in the right place. So my questions are: 1) Is creating a new button the best way to differentiate these two donation purposes? and 2) Where would I see these two separate items in the reports? Thanks in advance!
