The PayPal Here App's "Description" Field serves absolutely no purpose. Other than to confuse sellers into thinking any information entered would be able to be retrieved. We were planning on selling tickets to events using the Here app, and entering the customer's name and email address in the field labeled "Enter a description (optional)." All tickets would be virutal, and customers would be checked against a list at the event. However, in testing, we realized that any information entered in this field is lost forever. It is not in the receipt customers receive. It is not in the email notification our business gets. It is not in the PayPal –> Hisotry –> IPN History It is not in the PayPal transaction details. It is not in the PayPal transaction’s invoice. It is nowhere. This is a glaring programming error. This field needs to work, or be removed, so nobody is up a creek relying on it. Thank goodness we realized this before selling tickets, then having no idea how to email those people or identify them at the event door. We are having to switch to Square.
