I echo everyone else's frustration. There is a lengthier thread you can't reply to in the archives concerning this with the moderators coming up with excuses. I asked my brother to send me $25 because I needed it in a pinch. I had already verified my bank account and figured this was the quickest way to go about it. Dead wrong. DEAD. WRONG. The fact the mods screwed up and admitted the money is stored in batches until it's released to the institutions shows right there there's interest being made on our money. My father is a finance rep at a bank and said the same thing. He said it would have been quicker for my brother to send the money through the mail. In order for PayPal to make interest off your money, the "batches" have to exceed a threshold which is why it takes so long for you to get your money. My bank said the same thing. They said, "Why would we have to "look" at something and "approve" it before it goes into your account?" I agree. If a transfer from someone LIKE PayPal is coming in, it should be automatic. For the record, they took the money OUT of my brother's account and placed it in my PayPal account within seconds. I would say it was instantly. So right there it shows it's not 1970 but 2013. Not that I will ever in my life again use paypal for anything but I'm willing to bet if I was going to transfer money from my bank account TO PayPal, it wouldn't take 5 business days. I'm betting it would be instant. Anyone else want to bet? 😉 So, PayPal, fine, keep the money for your interest. By the time you actually give it to me, I won't even need it anymore. This is a small price to pay to learn how the system works. You're only told AFTER you complete the transaction you're pretty much screwed for five days. It's a good thing it wasn't for rent or something extremely dire. My brother said he paid the fee to send it and I'm not even sure how much that was. So much for the moderators to say, "To keep your fees lower." Yeah right. My brother paid a fee and you're still holding my money. It's all crap. Just admit, "Hey, we are making money on your money. When we are ready, you'll get it. Deal with it and move on." I'd at least respect you for it.
