Can I please get a moderator to view this? I'm really starting to think twice about using PayPal if its that easy for someone to claim false fraud and subtract money from my account when it doesen't seem like I did anything in the wrong. ... View more

We have been running the server since the 21 Mar 2013. The server has been paid on the following dates: Late January to March - Started building the server, managing plugins, getting the website done etc. 21 Mar 2013 - (First company we were hosting with) 1 Apr 2013        } 24 Apr 2013     } - (Second company we were hosting with) 24 May 2013    } The server is mainly Minecraft yes, but we are also hosting a Teamspeak Server and a Website with it too. The root lockdown code is a good idea, ill talk to my developer about getting that sorted out. Thing is, if we did have a lockdown code I probably couldnt even send that because I was being DOSed most of the time the server was being destroyed. Also, I cant blacklist his ip, because hes using an online DOSer that I think uses multiple IP's. Plus, i'm already reporting him to my ISP about the attacks.   Thanks, and I don't think I know you. ... View more

Fraud Claim Additional Information

Hello. I recently had a fraud claim sent to my PayPal account where the "buyer" wanted his money back. I can most delinetly say why the "buyer" did this, but it would be best to start from the begining. I had bought a server, for me and the "buyer" to run, the "buyer" would send payments of approx GBP £20.00 to my paypal to pay for his half of the server, and I would pay the other £20 to pay for mine. This altogether would keep the server running for another month. This was how me and the "buyer" agreed to pay for the server, and it was going fine until the "buyer" got really angry at me for changing 1 little aspect of the server. The "buyer" removed me from skype after we had a talk about what happened and that its happened in the past. Since this has happened many times in the past, I thought about kicking the "buyer" out. About 2 hours later after I kick the "buyer" out of the server, my server crashes. I first check the logs to see what happened, but I cant find them. I log onto the server using an FTP to see what is happening file wise. I realise that the crash was caused by some of the main root files being deleted, but It wasnt just the root files that were deleted, it was game files, website files/data, and actual main booting files for the server. By the time I got to my hosting panel to change the ftp password, I couldnt connect, because that too was deleted. I tried to log back onto the ftp and I couldnt connect. Everything was offline, because everything was deleted. Pictures of website and ftp when down: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=10ynytt&s=5 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=dfft3s&s=5 When we finally got the main boot files running but none of ours: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2yu12mw&s=5 My friend was talking to the "buyer" yesterday and managed to get the "buyer" to admit to DOSing me: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6xqk5w&s=5 As you probably know, DOS/DDOS attacks are illegal in the UK and other countrys, and destroying someones data without authorisation is also illegal (Data Protection) I just don't see how the "buyer" can agree to paying for this server, send me the money for his half, sucessfully pay for the server, then 2 months later he can file a claim of fraud, destroy everything and send multiple DOS attacks directly to me. I kicked the "buyer" out from the server because he was destroying it and sending multiple DOS attacks to me and other friends. I'm pretty sure thats a good reason to kick someone out. I'm currently on the road to contacting my ISP and getting this DOS attack sorted out.   The server has now been restored to a backup luckily saved on a developers computer. (Backup was taken on the 17th of May and took 5 hours to restore) Thanks for your time.   ... View more
