Personally I would sell the ticket locally for cash, not do a deal thru Craig's List however, that is your choice.   What you need to do first is ensure that you properly setup your PayPal Account meaning make sure you take the time to verify your account.  After you've done that, you should send an invoice to the buyer, do not let the buyer simply send you funds using your email address.    Send the invoice for the ticket, the buyer pays, once the funds are in your Account Balance, you ship the ticket and make sure you have the tracking info.  Note, to allow the buyer to pay with a credit card, you will need either a Premier or Business account.  For your scenario, a Premier Account would work fine.   You can also protect yourself by ensuring certain settings are enabled within your Account Profile.  For example, you can require a phone number and confirmed address.  A confirmed address means that the buyer's shiping and billing address are the same.  You can also specify only selling to only US PayPal accounts. ...
