I posted an add on criags list selling a ring. I left a number where they could send me texts for more questions. I keep getting text asking if I still have the ring and when I tell them yes they want my paypal address. Why would they need that? What makes me question this is, the ring is $1500.00. So if i were going to spend that much money on something I would want to ask some questions. I know the description is in the post as well as pictures, but wouldn't someone spending that much money as least want to know where the ring is coming from or how it will be shipped or what kind of payments I would accept? I I put some items on craigslist for sale. I posted 2 diamond rings for sale and put I was selling them to buy my daughter a car. This guy replied and said he worked off shore and wanted my e-mail so he could ask some questions. I gave him my e-mail and he asked questions, and said because he worked offshore he had no access to a bank or a phone, so he could not get a money order and the only way to pay for it was through paypal. I have bought stuff on eBay with paypal but have never sold anything through paypal. He said he needed my paypal address to send payment. That worried me so I did not respond. I reposted my rings on craigslist and he sent the exact same e-mail he had sent weeks earlier. I am trying to find out if I give him my paypal address, if he can hack into it and get my information because now he knows my e-mail address. I don't know how to find out if this is a scam.
