I sold an item on eBay to someone overseas. When I informed the buyer that his method of shipping did not include insurance or registered mail he said that he always received items via this method and that he did not require any extra shipping services. I shipped it and sent him the customs declaration number. He says he never received the item and filed a chargeback. In the dispute, I uploaded a picture of the customs declaration and eBay email threads where I offer registered mail and he refuses it. Today the chargeback was granted with the statement: This transaction was reversed for the following reasons(s): We received proof of shipment instead of signed proof of delivery. PayPal is now saying they will work with the credit card company to get my money back. Does the fact that I have actual eBay message threads from the buyer claiming he does not want to pay extra for registered mail matter? Do they look at this evidence? Will it be used when trying to recover my money? PayPal is requesting Proof of Postage. If I can even obtain it, will it make any difference? Since I am a lowly seller, am I just flat-out screwed?
