Hello everyone, I'm in need of great help. I met a seller on ebay, who sold japanese antiques. He had 7 positive feedback. I messaged him, he were friendly and ready to help. I asked him if he had one particular item, that I was looking for. He said yes, but then he told me to contact him outside Ebay. I found that strange, but I contacted him by his personal email. He send me detailed photos of the item I request, and I agreed in buying it. Then he told me he would not sell by Ebay anymore, because ebay would hold his money for 21 days and he would not send the item without having the money. Of course I've found it odd, since he had sold before on Ebay. But I wanted the item, since it was something very rare to find, and agreed in purchasing it by Paypal only. After sending him the money, he sent me a message telling that he had twisted his back and could not move, and therefore could not send my package. Again, I've found that incredibly strange, but it was too late; he already had my money. The next day I messaged him again, telling that I needed my package shipped soon with tracking number. He then told me he would ask a friend of his to send the package. After that he stopped replying to my messages, and it has been 12 days. No answer, no package sent, and also no refund from this seller. After this, I did a long research about this person, and found out at least 2 more persons that were also cheated by him. So it seems that his strategy was to first sell some itens for real and get positive feedback, so then he could cheat other people for bigger amounts easily, as people will for sure trust anyone with 7 positive feedback. I opened a dispute on Paypal, he also didn't answer there, so I escalated it to a claim. I presented to Paypal what I've found out in my research about this person. I wanted to know, how many time can paypal take to solve this? it was said that it can be up to 30 days if the case is complex, but I cannot imagine having to wait so much to receive my money back, after all this unhappy situation. Also, is there any chance that Paypal will decide at this fraudulent seller's favour? I'm just so afraid that I will lose my money and I will never get it back. It took me almost an year to save it so I could buy this item I was looking for, and after my efforts I ended up cheated, with no money and no item.
