Hello there. I am on the trail of a suspect I have reasons to believe to be the work of a scam artist in eBay. This suspect had purchased my item in auction but refused to pay for it. The first alarm was triggered when I read the question. Why would the suspect need my "Papal" - note the purposely misspelling - email account to make the payment? I suspect he is attempting to gain access to my Paypal account and use it against me. This is a form of illegal hacking where a criminal would gain access to your confidential account information and use it against you. The second alarm is this - He is making excuses for not being in the country and wanted me to ship my item to a suspicious address in West Africa. He wanted me to ship my item to a "Benjamin Godspeed" he had named as his granddaughter. This had triggered a lot of red flags. Please beware of this type of scam. IMO PayPal and eBay need to impliment security protocols to identify and ban scammers from our attempts to make honest transactions and profits. They should be able to screen potential users and check their backgrounds with the authorities and government officials. We know we got nothing to hide. Why should we be punished for users with these criminal intented activities?
