If you decided to sell a lot of items to get to a 100, so you did not have a hold on your money, you clearly have a lot of time on your hands partner - thus all the forum posts. I do not.   Ebay was not like this in the past, these rules have been initiated in the past year or so from what I was told by customer support,  who by the way told me this issue is what all her calls are about. And thats when the "fuss" started with Ebay.   Someone holding onto your money for an undertermined amount of time is "ho-ha"? Really?   My issue is what consititues a safe seller. I have 20 transaction, a 100% rating on every sale I made, and I leave a significant amount of money in my PayPal account for extended periods of time. That's a safe seller in my book.   Have a good time with your busy work selling all your inexpensive items to keep your reting up.  ... View more

There is always a reason - they just are either not good reasons or not relevant to me. Look at the number of complaints Ebay receives on their policy. The proof is in the pudding my friend. You can defend them but you have an unhappy base of customers.   My business processes between $1800 - $4000 of Paypal transactions a day. This happens to be my personal accunt. I have 20 transactions in total. I have carried at leat a 600 balance in my PalPal account for the past 6 months up until recently - just sitting there - not earning money for them to use as they see fit. Everyone who has ever left feedback on me left 100% feedback.   So now I have not sold on eBay for some time now does this mean hat I should not trust them and they have to prove themselves to me before I do business with them again -- ie: they need to place funds in an escrow account for me incase they do not deliver my funds? The same goes for PayPal. Should I make them Escrow money in an account before I use them as a payment gateway just in case they do not pay me? Is that fair? It would be in the PayPal / Ebay model. No recent interactions between them and me, funds must be protected becuase Ebay or PayPal may burn me.   And from what I read on this forum, Ebay will revert your "apprved" status automatically if you do not fight to keep it or unless you do a ton of transactions - ie - you are a business. No personal sellers use eBay thaat regularly - no one has that much stuff to sell.   Very disappointed in the service. I will make a pont of informaing everyone I have the opportunity to discuss this with should EBay enter into a conversation. ... View more

Having not sold on ebay for several years, i was shocked when i listed and sold an item and found out i would have to wait at least 3 days after the item was delivered and longer (at a minimum) if i did not use Ebay for my shipping label.   What a rip-off. I will not be using Ebay or PayPal in the future. Lets see, one corporation makes money on my listing, the money transaction, the sale commission, the shipping and the interest when they hold onto my money.   I wish Americans were not so apathetic in general. I am afraid the younger generation, who is so used to getting  sc_ew_d by corporate America will accept just about anything in the future.   Craigslist is an Aternative, and there seems to be a business opportunity here for another company to offer a better fairer service for consumers. ...
