As many posts have talked about, sales tax and use tax is a pain.  I have a couple of questions that I'm wondering if someone monitoring the board could answer.  We plan on using Standard:   Is it possible to just charge my base amount and then either in text on our website or at PayPal, state that it is up to the buyer to claim and pay sales tax as required by their jurisdiction? If not, does PayPal at least have it set up where I can collect Sales Tax for companies purchasing w/in my state and then for out of state indicate that it is up to you to claim what is necessary for your jurisdiction? State of Kansas, if you buy out of state, are all the problems you state still the case or is that only if you are a Kansas company selling in state?   What a pain to do e-commerce.  Small businesses are the heartbeat of America but government is doing everything it can to keep the little guy/gal down.   Thanks, Kevin ... In section 8.6 of the PayPal User Agreement, it states the following. PayPal shall apply the following fee to each PayPal Business Payment: Activity                                         PayPal Business Payment fee ----------                                        ---------------------------------------- Sending or receiving*              $0.50 USD per transaction   * The PayPal Business Payment fee is paid by the recipient unless it is disclosed to you before you send the payment that you, the sender, must pay this fee.     What exactly is this all about?  Is this just sending money?  If I sell something for $100, section 8.2(b) makes me believe it should just be 2.9%($100) + 0.30 = $3.20 for that transaction.  However, does section 8.6 add yet another $0.50 on top of that?  If not, when does section 8.6 come into play?   Thanks. ... Hello, I'm reading through the PayPal User Agreement in section 8 dealing with Fees.  We're thinking of using PayPal as our 3rd party payment gateway/merchant account.  (specifically, PayPal Website Payments Standard).  What does section 8.6 mean when it states: PayPal Business Payment Fee. PayPal shall apply the following fee to each PayPal Business Payment: Activity PayPal Business Payment Fee Sending or receiving*            $0.50 USD per transaction   * The PayPal Business Payment fee is paid by the recipient unless it is disclosed to you before you send the payment that you, the sender, must pay this fee. My question: Is someone ALWAYS going to be charged $0.50 USD or is just for sending money and not for purchases from my website?   (I notice that this very question was in a few external forums too.) Thanks. ... View more
