Hello to all 🙂 I bought an iPhone on eBay. After a week of waiting for the phone and no response from the seller to any messages/emails i sent, i decided to open a dispute. Within minutes of opening the dispute i received a message in the PayPal Resolution Centre claiming that the eBay seller had used his PayPal account to receive the funds (the Paypal account holder is apparently a friend of the eBay seller) and to contact the seller via. eBay. At pretty much the same time i received a message in eBay asking me to close the dispute as he would send the phone soon. I replied that i would only close the dispute once i had received the phone or a refund (the typos and grammar of both messages were exactly the same telling me this is infact the same person, this is also going on at 3AM, a time i don't believe both parties are sitting at their PC's!!). A few messaged went back and forth with one of them telling me he didn't have the money to refund me. 2 minutes later and PayPal have closed my claim because i have been issued a refund by way of echeck. I'm worried this echeck will bounce (especially as he has told me he doesn't have the money) with no way of re-opening the dispute. I will have to wait until 5th April until i see something other than "pending" in the refund status. My claim also says "Being reviewed by Paypal", what does this mean and why is it being reviewed if i've received a refund? If (or when) it does bounce, how can i go about recovering my money? Thank you for any enlightenment.
