Thanks for your input, Kernowlass. The solution you offered applies to both subscription payments being received – and being paid. One would expect, therefore, that it would accomplish the job. Amazingly, it is yet another set of instructions that doesn’t work. The “History” tab has – for some time now – produced a sub menu with only two items in it “Basic Search” and “Download History”. The Basic Search tab shows your transactions for the last 30 days. The Download History tab allows you to specify the period you want to look at. When I click on the transaction’s “details”,  I’m presented with a paged titled “Instalment plan details”. This is the closest I can find to “Subscription details” The only live links on this page are                                Previous Page Vendor’s email View History Change (address) There is also an unresponsive link - What’s this? – which presumably is meant to explain what is meant by Primary payment methods (credit card or...). There is absolutely no hint of a way to actually cancel the subscription. It seems obvious that, in this matter, Paypal’s left hand doesn’t know what its right hand is doing. Navigation and nomenclature keep getting changed but no one mentions this to the people who write the answers to our questions. Looks like calling them on the ‘phone is the only answer.       ... How to cancel a subscription when there's no CANCE...

Today is May 7, 2012 Below are some of the instructions from Paypal and the Forum in response to the question “How to cancel a subscription”. Not a single one of these suggestions produces a “CANCEL” button of any description. It does not help that, throughout its website, Paypal uses at least 6 (six) different names for recurring payments. Paypal seems to use many coders and designers who never get their thinking joined up. Are they constantly tinkering with inconsequential details without anyone ever checking things from a customer’s point of view? What’s wrong with a site plan that lets you see how everything can be accessed PLUS a button labeled “Cancel Subscription”? And did you ever see such a pathetically meager canned list of FAQ’s? Any time I have a query I can never find an appropriate Q and A. Ever tried sending Paypal an email? It’s ridiculous. And our favourite online girl, Louise, never has an answer for anything I ask about. But in case you think I am hostile towards Paypal, I should say I am very grateful to them for recovering a chunk of money I foolishly laid out for a purchase that went wrong. So “Thank you Paypal”. All I want to know is how to cancel a subscription. None of the suggestions below works. Can anyone shed light on the problem? ??????????????????????????? Log in to your PayPal account. Click Profile at the top of the page. Click My Money then click Update beside My preapproved payments to find your payment. Select the payment, and then click Cancel. ??????????????????????????? Go to Account Overview > History > More Filters drop down menu > Select Subscriptions and Agreements > Recurring Payments > My Profiles > Enter subscription start date > Show > View the details of a specific ‘Subscription Creation’ using Details > Cancel to cancel subscription. ?????????????????????????????? Go to Account Overview > History > Locate the subscription > Details > Cancel. ??????????????????????????????? Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page. Select ‘My money'. In the ‘My pre-approved payments’ section, click ‘Update'. Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel’. Click ‘Cancel Profile’ to confirm your request. ?????????????????????????????? Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account. Click ‘Profile.’ Click ‘My preapproved payments’ under ‘Financial Information.’ Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel.’ Click ‘Cancel Profile’ to confirm your request. ?????????????????????????????? Log in to your PayPal account. Click the My Account tab. Click the History subtab. Click More filters, select Subscriptions and agreements, and then click Subscriptions. Change the date back to the year the subscription was created, and then click Show. Click Details next to the subscription. Click Cancel Subscription. ???????????????????????????????????? PayPal's Website Payments Standard Integration Guide explains how Subscriptions work and the options for canceling Subscriptions. The guide can be found here along with lots of other good info. (BUT NOTHING THERE ABOUT CANCELLING SUBSCRIPTIONS!) ?????????????????????????????????? 1. Log in to your PayPal account. 2. Click History at the top of the page. 3. Find the subscription in your History. 4. Click the Details link for the subscription. 5. Click the Cancel Subscription button. ????????????????????????????????? ... View more

Dispute caught in a Paypal loop

Didn't recognise a payment. Filed an "unauthorized" dispute. It was my mistake. Case was quickly closed. But then vendor did not provide product download. Sent many emails - all undeliverable. Now I try to file a "not as advertised" dispute. But Paypal says I have another dispute - check that first. I do that and confirm case IS closed but the cycle keeps repeating. Any way around this? ... View more
