Just got an email from paypal.  They ruled in my favor because the seller never responded.  Only problem I had was that the dispute process takes a long time but I will finally get a full refund 🙂 ... View more

Thanks for the reply Olivia.  I bought an HD PVR, not virtual goods.  I asked the shipper to include a tracking number but he hasn't done so and hasn't attached a tracking number to the transaction on paypal.  The payment was already complete, I opened a dispute but the guy hasn't responded.  Is it possible that he already deleted his paypal account or would paypal freeze all his funds?  On top of that, after I made the payment, I realized the guy was an unverified paypal user so I'm pretty worried.  Also, can I only open a dispute once? ... hold/freeze funds if a buyer opens a dispute (even though the transaction says complete)?  Or will the seller still be able to withdraw funds to their bank account. ... View more

Please Help I Think I Got Scammed

Well basically, I wanted to buy an HD PVR and this person was selling it for quite cheap on this forum.  He told me that he'd sell me the PVR and that I should check his previous feedback from traders.  I looked up his forum feedback and it was quite good.  So I send this guy the money through paypal and as soon as I send it I realize that this guy is a "Premier" Unverified account holder.  I was worried about that but I didn't question it.  I asked the guy to send me a tracking number for sure and even paid extra for insurance of the PVR.  That was all 2 days ago.  I talked to the guy yesterday and he said that he's shipped the package and there have been no complications.  I asked for a tracking number he says that he didn't get one.  He says he has a receipt for proof though.  I ask him for that and he starts asking me questions like what's your email? I'll send it to you later (mind you this was on msn and we'd been talking through email for quite a while).  And now I think he's just ignoring me and I have not received a scanned copy of the receipt.  I really don't want to go to the forum admin yet because the guy might be telling the truth but I'm afraid that he's close his paypal account and just scam me.  Is there anyway I can get paypal to hold funds until I get my item?  He hasn't even added a tracking number and updated it on paypal yet the paypal payment I sent him is complete.  What should I do? ...
