you are right about SOME sellers.  It is a 2-sided street.  I have gotten things on Ebay that should have been thrown away, but normally I do okay.   I am a seller and I have had only a couple of bad experiences. One guy sent me an empty envelope back and claims he returned a $150 watch to me. He had delivery confirmation. I did turn in a fraud complaint with the USPS and am waiting to hear from them.   You can sometimes catch a good deal on Ebay and 99 percent and the sellers and buyers are legit. That 1 percent makes everything seem sour.   Good luck to you. ... View more

I will be the first one to admit that Pay Pal is convenient but they are also quick to give the buyer their money back. There are good and bad buyers and good and bad sellers on Ebay. I have dealt with both. I think that you have to be careful of what you buy on Ebay, however an honest seller can easily get ripped off. I sold a watch and got an empty flat rate envelope back. Buyer has proof of delivery but I didnt get anything. I took it to my post office and they said it was mail fraud. But that will not get my money back. BE CAREFUL is all that I can say. I think the seller is having a harder time on ebay than the buyer right now.   ... View more

I shipped a $300 watch after a week buyer emailed me that it wasnt keeping time. I told him it might be the battery and he offered to have it looked at. 2 more weeks go by - I email him ask him what's up?  He said I havent had time to take it. Next day he says I sent him a defective watch according to jeweler.  Okay, I said send it back when I receive the original watch I will give you a refund. Well, today I got an emptly flat rate envelope. First of all I shipped it in a 6x6x7 insured.   Second Is this going to be enough for Ebay to refund him.  I wanted the watch back so I could send it to the manufacturer.   I am beginning to think that EBAY is beginning to get shakey.  More and more people are going to be doing this and what recourse are we going to have.   There are a lot of honest people buying and selling on Ebay but it only takes a few to topple the company.   I would think that EBAY would be aware of this and start making different rules. ... We shipped an $800 acoustic guitar sold for $400. Buyer said he recd wrong item. Went straight to filing a claim. He returned a box thru USPS that is 3 ft square and only weighs 7 pounds and our box was huge and weighed 24 pounds SHIPPED FEDEX. Pay pal gave him his money back as soon as he showed proof of delivery. We have not opened the box he sent to us because we are planning on going to small claims court.  We did not have a leg to stand on and this was totally unfair.  We have been selling for years and have good feed back, while this clown only had 17.  Beware there are a lot of scammers out there and you are on your own. ... My husband and I both sell on Ebay. He sells musical equipment and I sell jewelry and misc.  I have come to the conclusion that as long as everything is going smooth it will be okay but the first time you have a problem you are on your own. Recently my husband sold an acoustic guitar value $800 sold for $400.  The buyer said he recd an electric guitar and wanted his money back. My husband does not deal in electric guitars. My husband shipped his 21 pound box FEDEX and the guitar had a case. He received back a 7 pound box 3 ft x 2 1/2 ft.  He has been going round and round with pay pal and ebay. Paypal gave the buyer his money back even though my husband told them what he received back. He has not opened the box because he is taking it to the police station to file an incident report. He is also taking it to the post office and filing a mail fraud report. Then he is going to a small claims court to sue Ebay/Pay Pal.  If everyone was doing this type of thing the seller's would be out of business and so would Ebay.   Good luck to all of your buyers and sellers out there because you are on your own. ... I have been selling on Ebay for 2 years and I am reasonably happy with the way things are going. However, I need to use the small flat rate box priority mail  and since it is not offered I have to go thru the USPS direct. I am sure this will be a hassle if anything ever gets lost.    I have been trying to get by with the flat rate envelope but it does not suffice all the time.   What will it take to get PayPal to add this to our options. Why in the world do they only offer the medium flat rate- and not the small and large.   We have to use PayPal so they should work with us as much as possible. If everyone keeps complaining maybe they will change their policy. cosmolady2008 ... View more
