Absolutely! My deal was for just over $900 US. After Ebay fees,Ii'm down about 10% which I thought I might partially make up on the exchange rate at the time. Surprise! Paypal would have charged me an extra $80 CDN to buy the amount of US that I had netted but converting that same amount of US to CDN, I ended with $10 less!!!! And that's also after giving PayPal the use of my frozen funds for a few weeks. Moral: if you plan to buy in US, keep some US funds on hand in your Paypal account. If you actually need the cash, or were planning to transfer it to your bank account in Canada, sorry, sell your item in CDN, let someone else get **bleep**ed on the exchange rate and you'll only get hit with the PayPal fee. By the way, many of us have US $ accounts in Canada, but Paypal won't allow us to link them to our PayPal accounts. Why should they when they can milk us dry with their policies. My story: big ticket item (for me), should have, could have sold it locally and would have netted just a few bucks less but a lot faster and with a lot less aggravation after Ebay fees, Paypal fees, postage, exchange rate and account freeze.
