The Postage system failed massively in early December 2011. After that we had many days where it went down for 4 or 5 hours. 28/12/11 it is down again and we have no indication when it will work. Ebay are charging sellers for bad postage activity and neither ebay or paypal are prepared to take any remedial action. How are other businesses coping with these arbitrary failure. We can't spend all day logging in to checvk if the system might now be working. Surely there has to be a means of being notified by one or either organisation that the system is down and is again working. This is no longer a means of single users selling one item in a blue moon. We have poer sellers etc being threatened with status cvhange because of an organisational failure which is not recognised by buyers because they are not told there are problems.
