Despite the item being genuine, buyer decides to send bag back for a refund, claiming handles are not authentic. Paypal blocks all funds, puts account under "limitation mode". the seller then send the item back, without a required signature, to a wrong address where it is left out in front of a door on the street. Item is lost. Paypal recognizes that i, buyer, who lives in another state, did not receive item, and as such unblocks funds. Then the deadly chargeback. Paypal blocks the funds. I tell Paypal I do not have item - seller lost it - they said that sounds like an open and shut case - but I will probably have to wait 90 days for resolution. I ask for buyer protection - and they bring up the "significantly other". I remind them that the chargeback was not initiated because of significantly other" but because the buyer lost the item. I state that I will refund buyer if I they send it to my address. it is clear to me that Paypal should honor their sellers protection program. And if they are not going to protect us sellers from chargebacks - they should allow us to only allow bidders who are paying with a direct transfer from their bank accounts.
