Hi, I've been using Paypal for years, and I had both bank account and credit card account in my profile. Last week, I made 4 purchases on eBay. The first and fourth were in big amount, and the second and third are only few dollars order. My bank account didn't have enough funds for the 1st and 4th purchases, so I assumed Paypal would have charged on my backup credit card instead. However, the fact was: - Paypal charged the 1st purchase (big amount) on my bank account, even though it didn't have significant fund in there - caused the overdraft fee for $35; - kept charging the 2nd and 3rd purchases on the same overdraft account - causing another two $35 overdraft fees; - trying again on charging the 4th purchase (big amount) on the already-overdraft account, and this time my bank's system notified there is a negative balance, so the transaction didn't get through, but I still got charged $35 for return item, and received an email from Paypal that they will charge again on same bank account 3 days later.... First, I want to know why the backup credit card wasn't applied on the first purchase when the bank didn't have enough funds? I mean, what's the point to have my credit card there for the backup fund source? On Paypal checkout page, after successfully purchased on eBay, it's clearly stated that if the bank account didn't have enough fund, it would then go to my credit card. Why it charged FOUR TIMES on my bank account, and caused FOUR $35 OVERDRAFT FEES???? Second, I would demand to ask for those four $35 bank fee (total of $140) back since it's Paypal's mistake and causing all the troubles to me and my bank account. I've filed a dispute 24 hours already but I still haven't heard anything from Paypal on possible solution. Hope you can assist me here.
