Thank you @kernowlass I am pretty sure they were real messages from Paypal..They were. I had one to confirm payment made by buyer, another to remind me to withdraw funds, then another reminder later - when I still hadn't withdrawn because I could not see the money. Just zero balance. I mean it was 6 pence - but the clearly the process should still work. I contacted Paypal and received another automated response saying that the money was returned to seller because I either had not signed up for paypal or had not registered. (I'm like - what?!!) It was an in-ebay transaction (I don't do anything other). The buyer was in communication with me, very courteous, has an excellent rating and completed her side of things... So no it was a miniscule amount of money - In fact I intended to give the item away in exchange social media support. As I say, buyer did as promised AND paid a small amount as apparently you can't give stuff away on ebay, always seems to need a minimum payment of some pence. It's nice to know you keep it kind on here, i'm new, didn't know and assume nothing. Some other support communities seem to have some mean replies to what I guess are perceived to be "obvious" questions. Any question is only easy and 'obvious' when we know the answer. So apparently this remains a bit of a mystery then? I've checked my emails are aligned (ebay to paypal) and account is in order...all previous transactions are showing on paypal history..ebay acc shows up the transaction as completed in ebay account..It's only since paypal have changed their site I'm having this issue..I wonder if there are bugs. Currently taking a risk and posting another item to sell on ebay by auction. This one requires payment - I'll post if I have the problem a second time. Thanks again.
