I'm totally un-impressed and frustrated with the changes since Synchrony Bank took over PayPal Extras MC. Synchrony isn't posting current transaction history online. When I called about this I was told I could see my transactions in my monthly statements. I questioned this because I need to see my daily activity inbetween statements. Then it was suggested that I watch my daily balance to see if it decreases. Really? In this age of instant information? That was bad enough, but then today I got a call from Syncrhony's fraud department asking me to verify a transaction. Fair enough. I called back within an hour of the call and verified my purchase with a supplier. Before ending the call I asked for the status of the transaction. That's when she told me it had been denied. Yesterday. Why? Because it triggered a fraud alert. Could it be honored now that I had verified the charge? No. It had already been declined, and once declined, it could not be un-declined. PayPal is entering a very competitive era, and this type of partnership will do it no good. I have never had a problem with PayPal or any associated credit cards before. But this lack of customer service from a partner carrying the PayPal name is bad news. I'll continue using PayPal of course. But from here on out, I'll be using Amazon's credit services.
