I've had this account since 2006! I'm a Process Server and offer legal services, NOT goods! I serve court documents for CLIENTS, NOT CUSTOMERS of GOODS! So this morning, a client paid me to do a job for him, and I got this message from Paypal!: You received a payment from [his name]. We've placed the money for this transaction on hold because we believe this transaction may involve a higher than usual risk. Providing no issues arise between you and the buyer the funds will be released in the morning of Dec 7, 2017. This scared me, and I was afraid the client was up to something shady, but he was a veterinary doctor! Pretty trustworthy guy! But I became scared and refunded his $120 payment and said we were having to decline working for him because of that message! THEN someone else paid me this afternoon and I got the same message!!! I called customer service and was told they had to call me back. 42 minutes later, they called and I TRIED explaining to the guy, whose first language is NOT American, that I do not sell goods, I sell services, and I MUST be paid in advance for services, or I cant do the work! For example, if a client has me do the work for them today, that work is DONE, and then if they decide not to pay me, unless that money is securely PAID, I LOSE IT! I CANT do business that way, or too many clients might use Paypal to RIP ME OFF! So despite trying to explain that to this guy, he's telling me tons of reasons - NONE of which apply to me - why holds may have been put on my account! So I asked him 5 times, what is the specific reason that holds are being put on my account?! He finally told me that it's some kind of automated security thing, because I GAVE A CLIENT A REFUND BACK IN SEPTEMBER! WHAT?! In my business, if soomeone no longer needs my service, I gladly refund their money as a courtesy! And he said that this did not involve a dispute! JUST that I gave a client a refund in September! W T F?!!!!! SO I DEMANDED that this be STOPPED and asked to speak to a supervisor. So he puts me on hold and it's now been ALMOST AN HOUR and no one has picked up my call! I've had this account since starting my business in 2006!!! Now I have to look for an alternative to Paypal because of this outrageous behavior by Paypal! They won't let me do business here anymore!!! ( STILL ON HOLD, in Denver!!!)
