A little background. I posted a motorcycle in an online newspaper ad. Today I received this email. The first message he asked me my lowest price for the bike. When I replied with 8,800 I then received the long reply below. My wife and I believe it is a scam, but I have to wonder why he'd want to use paypal? If I provided him my paypal email he would only be able to send me money, unless individuals have the capability to hack paypal.   Any advice is appreciated.     Hi again, thank you for getting back to me! I would be glad to meet you but am currently in Spain.As of now, I don't have much access to communicate on phone and I can't meet with potential seller to inspect what am purchasing but i believe what i read about the ad is genuine and fact. I just have access to the internet and check my email very regularly... I am ready to purchase it asap..i will offer you $9,500.00 as a better offer in which i expect you to decline all other offer that is below my offered price.I anticipate that I'll have payment made through paypal to you from my paypal .. You do not have to bother yourself about the shipping. I'll instruct a Shipping Co Agent to come for pick up at your door,when you must have gotten your cash at hand I had prearranged the deal with paypal and they will supervise our transaction. So it would be of a great appreciation if you can accept my offer and choose to commence with the transaction So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you: Paypal email address Name on paypal Note:you can visit www.paypal.com to register with paypal if you dont have paypal account After I have all this details I will forward them to paypal and proceed with the payment and email you when the payment is made. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and I made three purchases on 31 Jan 11, two through EBay and one to a private company.  All three were tagged by Pay Pal and they opened and "investigation".  I have been in contact with all three sellers, two have shipped the items because PayPal is so slow in resolving the issue.   I have written PayPal seveal times, and received no reply.  All three sellers wrote and called PayPal to verify the transations and have them release the funds.  As of today, 5 Feb 11, the funds have not been released.  All PayPal says is "Inquiry by PayPal Temporary Hold".   This is the second time this deployment PayPal has limited my account like this and the first time I was able to call, but I sat on hold for over an hour.  I cannot do tha this time and I am trying to communicate via email, but they never answer!    Any suggesions on how to handle this?  I have been an Ebay & PayPal member since 2001 and have neverhad issues such as this.   By the way, I have made two purchases since 31 Jan and they went through with no issue..what gives Pay Pal? ...
