Well you guys are lucky, at least you where given the link to have the option to change funding. I have been using paypal for years and have always had an issue with not being able to have my credit card as the default funding  option.   Well a few days ago a made a couple of hundred dollar purchase on ebay that required instant payment, when I reviewed the first page that came up I was unable to locate the "super secret change your funding and we'll still try to talk you out of it link"  and believe me I have been doing this long enough to know where and what to look for,   so I figured it was on the next page as the only other option was to hit the gold button that said "continue with paypal"   well sure enough that completed the transaction, no other page to review or change funding options and the money was drawn from my checking account.  So I called paypal and spoke to the representative, she looked into it and said it was wrong and was a "SYSTEM ISSUE", but even though she admitted that it was their fault, the response was sorry Charlie, there isn't anything we can do about it.   Of course my letters to paypal and ebay have been unanswered, they got their money so no need.   Unfortunately many ebay sellers now require paypal so I am stuck, but you can believe from here on out I will make damm sure I have a paypal rep on the phone talking me through the transaction each and every time.   John Crane ... I have been using Ebay and Paypal for many years, over 10 I think, and this has always been an issue with me from day one.   I understand that Paypal wants an active bank account to be a member, but I still do not understand why Paypal will not allow me to use my credit card as my Primary funding option?   Having said that I have always had to select my credit card almost each and every transaction   HOWEVER, last night I had an interesting thing happen.   I purchased an item that required a buy it now and immediate payment, after selecting the item I was directed to an page on EBay to make the Paypal payment, the page only required my Paypal password and DID NOT have any other links to change my funding options!!!(NO I did not just miss it, I have been doing this for years and know exactly what to do and purposely look for it each and every time).   The only thing on the page was a gold Paypal button that said continue with Paypal, when I clicked on the button I fully expected another page that would allow me to review everything before submitting, instead it completed the transaction.   Well I called Paypal and spoke with Lina, she researched it and came back and said that I was correct that I should have been allowed to change my funding options and the it was a "System Issue."   So now I have a problem,  I am now scared to ever use Paypal again(at least for any purchase over a couple of bucks) and the problem is so many Ebay sellers will now only take Paypal which limits my options as a buyer.   So by not allowing your customers to make their credit cards their primary funding option, your actually doing a disservice to both the buyers and sellers.   The posts below could have been avoided by giving up this deliberate practice of trying to trick people into instant bank transfers instead of using a credit cards. You  sure got me this time, but I promise you it WILL NEVER happen again, even if I have to get one of your agents on the telephone each and every time before I complete a transaction.   John Crane ...
