I have been using Ebay and Paypal for many years, over 10 I think, and this has always been an issue with me from day one. I understand that Paypal wants an active bank account to be a member, but I still do not understand why Paypal will not allow me to use my credit card as my Primary funding option? Having said that I have always had to select my credit card almost each and every transaction HOWEVER, last night I had an interesting thing happen. I purchased an item that required a buy it now and immediate payment, after selecting the item I was directed to an page on EBay to make the Paypal payment, the page only required my Paypal password and DID NOT have any other links to change my funding options!!!(NO I did not just miss it, I have been doing this for years and know exactly what to do and purposely look for it each and every time). The only thing on the page was a gold Paypal button that said continue with Paypal, when I clicked on the button I fully expected another page that would allow me to review everything before submitting, instead it completed the transaction. Well I called Paypal and spoke with Lina, she researched it and came back and said that I was correct that I should have been allowed to change my funding options and the it was a "System Issue." So now I have a problem, I am now scared to ever use Paypal again(at least for any purchase over a couple of bucks) and the problem is so many Ebay sellers will now only take Paypal which limits my options as a buyer. So by not allowing your customers to make their credit cards their primary funding option, your actually doing a disservice to both the buyers and sellers. The posts below could have been avoided by giving up this deliberate practice of trying to trick people into instant bank transfers instead of using a credit cards. You sure got me this time, but I promise you it WILL NEVER happen again, even if I have to get one of your agents on the telephone each and every time before I complete a transaction. John Crane
