Dognessy -   So, looking at your post, I understand you shipped the item to the buyer.  You have proof it has been shipped (proof of shipment).    Can you prove the buyer received the item with online tracking (proof of delivery)?   That's the requirement for PayPal to cover your loss under the terms of our Seller Protection Policy.  In many instances with the Seller Protection Policy, the seller keeps the money, and so does the buyer.  PayPal actually does take that loss, just as you are suggesting we do.   If I had that proof I'd provide it! Be realistic! I sent a CD to Europe. To get "proof of delivery", I'd had to pay $30 at least! WHo'd pay for that? Me? Or the buyer? Please, stop parroting the same thing again and again! We know your "rules", and this is exactly we complain about!   "That's the requirement for PayPal to cover your loss under the terms of our Seller Protection Policy" Do I have problem with English? You say seller must cover his loss under the Seller PROTECTION Policy.... So, where is your PROTECTION? Explain to us in plain English! "PayPal actually does take that loss, just as you are suggesting we do." REALLY? How? 1) PayPal took MY money the seller paid to me and then gave it to the buyer. 2) And PayPall before charged me for paying via PayPal. Explain to us where did PayPal take loss in my case????? "In many instances with the Seller Protection Policy, the seller keeps the money, and so does the buyer." With all my respect, I don't belive you. Any examples? It had to happen with my case! The postal service outside US lost the item, and you charged ... ME!   ... View more

With all respect, you just keep repeating the same nonsense again and again, just like your so-called "Customer Service" that doesn't provide any service at all, just parroting you corporate "policies". The transaction "didn't go well for me" because YOU DO NOT protect sellers at all! You still haven't told us here so far HOW DO YOU PROTECT SELLERS? The answer is simple: YOU DON'T! All your "cases" you open are nothing but wasting of time. The result is well-known: whatever seller says he is always right even if he cannot prove he is. If PayPal  is so "nice" to "protects" its clients, why don't you just take money from the profit you make on us and then give them to buyer to cover what he paid if the psotal service lost the package? Why do you take our money from us for the postal service failure?   I'm sorry for you that your bosses put you in this awkward situation when you must try to convince people that the black is actually white.       ... How does PayPal protect me as a seller? Is it a bad joke or something? PayPal DOES NOT protest me at all! Here is an example. A buyer claimed that he didn't receive my item. He lives in Latvia. He opened a cliam, and PayPal,a sked me to provide evidences that I sent the item to the buyer. He didn't pay for insurance, so all document sI had was post office receipt and customs number. Customs number showed the following tracking info: I shipped the item on time, and the item left the USA. So, here is the situation: 1) Buyer claims he didn't receive the item. 2) I proved that the item has been shipped to the Buyer. I can prove I fullfilled my obligation, but the Buyer didn't prove that he really didn't receive the item! Guess what? PayPal took MY money from me and gave it to the Buyer! When I caleld PayPal, their Customer Service rep and then his Superviser told me literally the following: This is your responsibility as a Seller to deliver your item to the Buyer. I asked them what if I snet it with Delivery Confirmation, and then the Buyer says he didn't receive the item? They repeated again: This is your responsibility as a Seller to deliveryour item to the Buyer. Before I thought that this is Postal Service responsibility to deliver postages! And I thought youa re not resposible for items that were lost or damaged by third party that you cannot control! Apaprently PayPal "protects" Selelrs that good that it belives the opposite. eBay will not even say that in the item's descrition! As you can see, any Buyer can claim that he/she didn't receive the item, and the Buyer will get money back via PayPal! If PayPal calls it "Seller's protection", then I don't know what protection is! I'm opening a claim with BBB against PayPal. And I try to sell as much as I can via Amazon, because Amazon don't take money from you!   ... View more

I completely agree, and I already became a victim of a buyer that claims that he didn't receive the item and PayPal! I proved that I sent the item, and the item left  the country. But it didn't matter: they took money from my account as if those moeny were theirs! Their so-called "protection" is nothing but robbery of the sellers! The problem is tyou cannot sell anything on eBay now if you cannot get payment through PayPal. And if you got paid via PayPal and then buyer opens a case, you LOOSE by default! PayPal reps told me that WE SELLERS RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERING ITEMS TO THE BUYERS! Even if the postal service lost the item YOU SELLER will pay for this! They simply take your money and give it to the buyer! I'm a Power Seller on eBay, but I fed up with PayPal! I WILL SELL VIA AMAZON!     ... View more

Here is what happened to me. A buyer from Latvia bought an item from me, a pretty expensive rare CD. Ok, I received his payment, packed the item and sent it to him via regular USPS International. In two months he opened a claim with PayPal that he didn't receive the item. PayPal contacted me, and I gave them the only tracking number I had: Customs Number. It confirms that the item was shipped in 2 days I received the payment and left the US. Now, guess who won the claim? Buyer! I called PayPal, and you know what they said? Because I cannot proove that the item has been delivered to the buyer, we decided punish you and take money from you! They also told me that I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERING THE ITEM TO THE SELLER! Oh-uh.... I proved that I shipped the item. He didn't prove that he din't receive the item. What if he simply lied? But he won anyway! How do you like this "logic"???? So, whatever buyer says is as good as gold, but whatever seller says, even if he proved that he is right, worth nothing! Seller is responsible for anything, even for item delivery! But they decided that even though I shipped the item and proved it, I have to pay for the parcel that wasn't delivered! Why did they punish me for poor mail service in Latvia?????????? This is how they "protect" their clients! They simply take your money from you without even asking you! If they wanted to "protect" you, they would pay money to the buyer from their pocket, not from mine! This is how the credit card companies do it! YOU promised him protection, I didn't! So, protect him, pay him his money back! eBay and PayPal make enough money from us to do that! THEY MAKE MONEY FROM SELLERS, BUT THEY DO NOT PROTECT SELLERS! I'm going to send complain to BBB and Federal Trade Comission. I dont' think this is a good business practice!   ... View more
