Here is what happened to me. A buyer from Latvia bought an item from me, a pretty expensive rare CD. Ok, I received his payment, packed the item and sent it to him via regular USPS International. In two months he opened a claim with PayPal that he didn't receive the item. PayPal contacted me, and I gave them the only tracking number I had: Customs Number. It confirms that the item was shipped in 2 days I received the payment and left the US. Now, guess who won the claim? Buyer! I called PayPal, and you know what they said? Because I cannot proove that the item has been delivered to the buyer, we decided punish you and take money from you! They also told me that I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERING THE ITEM TO THE SELLER! Oh-uh.... I proved that I shipped the item. He didn't prove that he din't receive the item. What if he simply lied? But he won anyway! How do you like this "logic"???? So, whatever buyer says is as good as gold, but whatever seller says, even if he proved that he is right, worth nothing! Seller is responsible for anything, even for item delivery! But they decided that even though I shipped the item and proved it, I have to pay for the parcel that wasn't delivered! Why did they punish me for poor mail service in Latvia?????????? This is how they "protect" their clients! They simply take your money from you without even asking you! If they wanted to "protect" you, they would pay money to the buyer from their pocket, not from mine! This is how the credit card companies do it! YOU promised him protection, I didn't! So, protect him, pay him his money back! eBay and PayPal make enough money from us to do that! THEY MAKE MONEY FROM SELLERS, BUT THEY DO NOT PROTECT SELLERS! I'm going to send complain to BBB and Federal Trade Comission. I dont' think this is a good business practice!
