Same thing happened to me on Jan 4, 2011. Bank called me today. I don't remember the eBay site acting strangely, but I seem to remember somewhere between eBay and logging onto Paypal it asking me for my cc number. I thought it was odd since it should have already been on Paypal, but we had another fraud back in November so I was assuming it needed the new acct. number. Right now I'm changing my Paypal password, dropping my bank account from it and only using a cc to pay for purchases. I will also try to alert Paypal to check their systems. Something is definitely wrong......
