Hi Amanda,   About holding funds until delivery is confirmed AND the buyer has given positive feedback... How can I, as a seller, force any buyer to give feedback of any kind?   Delivery confirmation might be a good idea, IF the Post Office were better than 70% efficient at their jobs. Buyer feedback, just on my sales is probably around 40%-50%. Most of the buyers communicate with a payment and no comments of any kind.   Seems like the policy may be heavy handed and actually give buyers an incentive to cheat more readily than before. ... If you want a list of your eBay fees for tax purposes it is pretty easy to go to your Account from your "My Ebay" summary page, access account detail and create a download file. Pull the file into excel, parse, and voila!   The other option is to print out all your invoices from the same spot in eBay and then do the work manually. ... View more

Re: USPS Confusion

Had some difficulty with a buyer AND USPS. Shipped a $31 item parcel post. Added delivery confirmation. Item was not logged by USPS. Buyer had tracking number and must have discovered this. Box of merchandise appeared item by item on the buyer's seller list but buyer claimed refund and won.   USPS rules state that the delivery confirmation will be scanned at every station your package goes through. USPS at my locale quoted, "We were told not to scan when it comes in." Checked the efficiency of the Post Office through USPS web site and discovered that their efficiency on delivery, etc is somewhere around 70%. Any business with this kind of efficiency would very shortly be OUT OF BUSINESS!   Can't blame Paypal or Ebay for the lack of the USPS, but can blame them for hobbling sellers when a buyer goes nuts. This little fiasco caused by "insurance offer not allowed on eBay invoices", "USPS inefficiencies", "Crooked buyers".   Add a seller fee at the bottom for additional charges, then buy insurance using that money. It will save a lot of grief.     ... View more

Do USPS discounted rates still apply in 2010?

Since the USPS rates have changed in 2010 I noticed my shipping charges from USPS, when I print my postage through Paypal, are no longer at the discounted rate. Did this change for 2010 or is there a problem with the shipping calculations? ... View more
