Hello chrisglenn101   Welcome and I am happy to help you.  If you have had money sent to you but still have not seen it then there are a couple possibilities.   The sender may not have successfully completed their transaction, or they may have sent it to an invalid, misspelled, or unconfirmed email address.  Your email address on your PayPal account serves as your account number and determines how funds are routed.  If the sender misspelled your email address, or sent it to an email address you do not have on your account, or you have added the email address but have not confirmed it, you will not see the money.   It is not necessary to have a bank account to receive money but you will need one if you want to transfer funds to a bank account.  I would encourage you to check with your friend and see to what email address the payment was sent to as this will help in determining the next step.   KB ...
