I know the person who made the payment has been  charged on his credit card. I have been freaking out thinking I've missed a step. A step that transfers money from my website to pay pal??? I am brand new to Pay Pal.  I can't get any answers from anyone on this. Could someone out there help me please? Val   Hiya Val:   This is part of Ebay and PayPal's new hold policy.  If you have less than 100 items sold and less than 100 positive DSRs or if you have a "spike" in sales or if you start selling something you didn't sell before or if they don't like the look of your name, Ebay will put a hold on your PayPal funds and they will not be released until 1)21 days have passed or 2) your transaction record shows the customer received the item or 3) you have positive feedback from the customer and notify Ebay of this feedback.   It's their new way of ripping us off and making the little man want to go somewhere else.  Ebay owns PayPal so they like to play little games with it.   Funnily enough, my Etsy sales do not provoke a hold on my PayPal funds.  It has to be strictly an Ebay policy.    This is one reason I'm switching exclusively to Etsy and possibly opening a storefront on Artfire as well.  Artfire is free as long as you list less than a certain amount - after that, it's $12 a month for unlimited listings.  Etsy is $.20 per listing.   You can use RME (Revolution Money Exchange), Google Checkout, PayMate and several other methods of payment.  Paypal is not our only option. ... Madjen wrote: " I registered to sell on ETSY, but it's only for handmade things."  Etsy has a section for commercial items as well as one for supplies.  People who think it's only for handmade things are mistaken.  Their only requirement is that you not sell something as handmade that isn't handmade.  I've had an account there for almost 3 years.   friday_bears ... I have registered on Artfire, which is $12 a month with unlimited listings, and Etsy, which costs $.20  per listing for 4 months at a time.  The percentages paid to the site are lower, and you can use RME (Revolution Money Exchange) as well as other payment options.  I like the community feel of the smaller sites.  The business practices are a thousand percent better as well.    As a note, the money I get from Etsy is not placed on hold when I make a sale there.  It's only the Ebay sales that they apply the hold to.   friday_bears ... Well according to what the new hold policy says, PayPal can hold on to the money for up to 21 days. However, I would NOT send the item back until you have talked to someone in the Resolution center.  You could end up being out the money as well as not having an authentic item.  Personally I'd want the money back first...I had a dispute once and I told the seller as soon as the funds showed up in my account I would send the item back.  I had it all wrapped and boxed and all, and the minute the money showed up in my PP account, I went to the post office and shipped the package.  It's a tough one, knowing what to do, but if you don't go through the resolution the correct way you can end up getting stuck. me   ... I'm sorry, but this is nothing short of kicking the small man out of business before we even have a chance.  I have no negative feedback.  I have had no complaints filed.  I have 100% postive feedback as a seller and a buyer.  However, because my few customers never filled out the DSR thing, I haven't got a high enough rating not to have my money held.   Hello.   I can't pay postage without that money.  I live on SS Disability and make a few extra bucks sewing here at home.  I don't drive to the post office because of my pain meds.  WIthout the money being available I can't print the USPS label and my customer can't get their stuff.   Do you see what you're doing as the result of I'm not sure what?  You're edging the small man out just like WalMart did the little local grocery stores and corner pharmacies and general stores.  If you don't have money to spare, apparently you don't deserve to make any, either.   It's wrong.    I'll be switching to RME and money orders and, I guess, taking my chances.  I don't have an option.   Thanks for nothing. ... Apparently if you're not the kind of person who keeps enough in your PP account at all times to pay for postage and shipping supplies and what you might need for special orders, you no longer qualify to be treated as a decent, hardworking person.  They're **bleep**ing us.  I don't have money sitting around.  I use the money the customer pays to pay for postage and so on.  Now I can't do that.  I don't drive much and I can't be running to town every time I have a package so I can buy stamps or postage.   This is stupid.  It's demeaning and dehumanizing and it shows just what kind of value Paypal and Ebay put on their sellers who don't have enough sales to qualify to have free reign on their money or ones like the other poster who, God forbid, have a customer who has a bug up their backsides and complains ONE TIME about a product.   Just one more way of making sure the people who use the system are independently wealthy, I guess...well, count me out! ... What is this garbage???

I have been a PayPal member since 2000.  I want to know why all of a sudden my money is going to be put on hold.  Does this mean that you are going to deal with the complaints I get from my customers who will now have to wait until their money clears before I send their items?  This is absolutely stinking ridiculous.  I will be closing my PayPal account and I will go with RME or money orders from now on.  Ebay has also lost a customer.  I have no idea why you all think you can just dump this kind of garbage on people who have been using your service for almost a decade with NO negative feedback, NO incomplete payments, NO refund requests and no other problems.  It's a load of garbage, is what it is.  I will now go sign out of my PayPal account and close my Ebay account and I will find other ways to buy things.    I'm done with this garbage.   You all have just shot yourselves in the foot.  You will be losing more than you ever anticipated. ...
