PayPal Community

Im still new to paypal and have been somewhat worried with everything I have read.  Recently I sold an item to someone and upon receiving the item they sent the amount I was selling the item for to my paypal account.   I dont have a bank account attached to my account so I decided to be patient and just have a check sent to me from paypal.  The thing is that it has been sitting at "pending" for a day now and  I dont know if they are waiting for me to do something or what.   I am confused and scouring these forums I am unable to find the answer to this question.  Can anyone assist me? ... I recently tried to sell an item of mine and in order to receive the payment we decided to use pay pal.  The issue though is after creating the account it asks me for a bank account before I can be verified.  My issue is I have no bank account but I do have a credit card and thought that would be ok.  Do I need to have a bank account in order to receive money at all?  If so I have an issue and really dont know what to do. ...
