Hi, I have just done the same thing. I must admit first off; I am relieved, as I have been reading about this issue being a possible scam. It's strange though that all I did was type in the words 'account number' followed by the numbers I was provided, as there is no direct reference to that number since you edited the post. Anyways, I did ring up to find out what was going on (prior to finding this thread), but despite my best attempts at telling 'Fred' (if that's his real name?? I didn't think he was English anyway...) what the problem was: all he could only tell me to change my password, which I had done already. Is there any specific number or team at the papal call centre that will know how to sort this 'Top-up' problem out for me? Thanks, Lanky. ps- I think there may need to be a fix for the account confirmation process as I was provided with the account details after confirming my account from the confirmation email and was told how to 'Top-up'. [UPDATE] - I have been told by the spoof@paypal.com peeps, that I was conned, but I don't know what will happen with my money. Also on a side note: the said 'spoof' email had no dodgey links...? It was a genuine paypal address...
