OK, agreed that keeping everything online via SSL is a good idea. It's now weeks/months later and I've seen no improvement to Check Capture. Now I can't even see the scanned checks via my iPod Touch so I have little to cross-reference with. We entered the customer's check number  in the message field, but probably should have also added their name since I am unable to glean that from the PayPal website and transaction history provided to me by PayPal.   Is there any new update to being able to find and review previously scanned check information? ... I'm using PayPal Check Capture on an iPod Touch and it work OK, not great, but OK. We are experiencing a fair number of 'returned checks' no doubt to weaknesses in the scanning and verification process. Hopefully improvements are in the works there. The biggest weakness though is that there is no way to view the checks after they have been processed from your main account, online via a web browser. Yes, you can see the scans on your mobile device, but it's a cumbersome process to go back and forth through the mobile interface to view multiple transactions. If you can see the scans from your mobile device, how hard would it be to add that feature to your transaction history online?    I'm going through a monthly reconciliation process and the only information I can glean in my account history from Check Capture processing is the transaction ID - and that is not very useful in trying to identify who the transaction is associated with. Please give us the ability to review the original scanned image from our online transaction history. Better yet, in the email confirmation we get for check capture, include an image of the check or at least the bank account and check issuer account name. These are critical pieces of information for cross-referencing purposes. ... View more

Integration and reconciliation with Xero

I've switched from QuickBooks to Xero for my accounting system. Xero does a decent job of integrating PayPal payments, but I'm interested in hearing from others who have experience in reconciling monthly PayPal statements with Xero. Xero's preferred format for bringing in financial data is OFX format, but I can't find anywhere if PayPal supports output of their monthly statements in OFX format, do they? I found that you can output PayPal as a csv file and Xero supports csv, but I haven't gone through the complete process with cvs export/import to see how well that works. Any feedback from experienced Xero users out there? ... View more
