Hi. I have a PayPal account that is in my father's name. He passed away a couple years ago, and even after that I never had any problem cashing a check from PayPal. Now for the first time, the bank refused to cash my check and said that I need to have a PayPal account in my name and that PayPal needs to send me a new check before the bank will cash it. I tried updating my PayPal info, but am very confused. How do I change my account name from my father's to mine? How do I get PayPal to send me a new check for the money I requested and what do I do with the old one that the bank wouldn't cash? I still have additional money left in my account too.
