I got a letter today from a guy I sold a hot wheel too back on June 7th. It has been about 40 days since he bought the item. He now said I received the box and it was smashed... I sent him an email and asked him why he waited 41 days to let me know that his item was damaged in the mail... I then got an email from paypal saying he had filed a claim. It was a very cheap item.. Just 6 dollars with shipping so I didn't dispute it and sent the money back.. I just wonder how sellers protect themselves just in case this happens when I send a high dollar item out. I have perfect feedback (114)... I wanted to dispute it so bad it made me sick to my stomach just knowing I sent it in bubble wrap and seller waited 41 days to report... He knows you have to file before 45... I am really thinking about doing away with paypal.. Ok... I simply paid this really to avoid any negative feedback on ebay. It was the easy thing to do... Paypal doesn't protect sellers.. Only buyers.. You get extorted on ebay with paypal reversals and negative feedback.. Well anyway, back to my question... How do you think Paypal would have ruled if I would have fought the case?. He waited 41 days until he even mentioned that there was a problem with the shipping. I don't sell on ebay for a business, was basically just selling things out of my garage.. It might just be better if I close them both out to avoid future headaches.
