EXACT same thing happened to me. Other answers include lengthy information about bank transfers, credit card company hold times, etc. But I was buying movie tickets online, using my PayPal Business Debit card, which had plenty of funds available. When the "purchase failed" due to the merchant's inability to accept online purchases, I checked my PayPal account and the funds are on temporary hold BY PAYPAL (not the merchant!) I attempted to buy something online today, using my PayPal card. There were already enough funds on my card, so this is not a banking issue. When I "thought" I had completed the purchase, the merchant said "Purchase Failed" because the company selling the item was not accepting online purchases. When I checked my PayPal account, there is now a Temporary Hold placed on the amount, even though I never bought anything.   Where is my money? And why did PayPal put a hold on it? And who in the world do I call or contact to get this fixed?? Argh! ... View more
