I stopped receiving the emails about a week ago. This seems to crop up once every year or two. It sometimes takes a long time for them to return.    Strangely, though, this time when I go to notifications/settings and check the box to "email when I make a purchase with my card" it appears to "save" the change, but then when I look at the screen again, that box has reverted to unchecked.    What's going on, PayPal? ... Woohoo!!! I took sand6's advice and went down to our cafeteria at work to spend $1.97 on some chocolate milk as a test -- and VOILA! An email by the time I got back to my desk!   It's been almost exactly 5 weeks to the day, but it does appear that email has returned.   I'm still absolutely stunned that it took so long, and working in the IT organization of my company, this would have been a huge priority to fix had it happened to us. I'd sure like to know what happened, but they'll probably never tell us the super-secrets of the inner workings of PayPal. I'm just glad it works now.   Way to go everyone! I hope you're right -- although I haven't seen any "accidental" trickles, I continue to hound them via phone and email (since they don't monitor this forum).   The latest email from them seemed almost...non-robotic...(emphasis added below): "...My name is Michael and I understand that you are writing in regards to the email notification issue.  I am aware this has been a long standing issue and I apologize for this. I have checked on this and have been told that this issue is to be corrected very soon. I know this is not giving you a specific time but that is all that I have been able to find out at this time. It's still broken. They have told me on a couple of occasions "it will be fixed the first week of July," but as of today, that has passed.   Still scratching my head over this. Really? Is it that hard to fix an email problem that's been working fine for years? More importantly, shouldn't this be considered a somewhat-critical, yet easy-to-troubleshoot problem?   I hope they'll come up with some decent explanation of what happened, too. My emails stopped arriving evening of June 20, 2011. I called and they say "we are actively working on this issue, it's not just you." So apparently some kind of problem arose, and they're seemingly aware of it. Let's hope! I really depend on those emails...they usually arrive within seconds after the POS transaction is done.
