It will make no difference how many call in.. the classic view was sharper, more efficient and less prone to entry errors. ( an example of that happened last night where I missed marking 4 sales as dispatched)   but no..  the paypal gurus want "pretty pretty" despite the facvt that it is much harder for the visually impaired to use.   I'm surprised they don't take the effect on diabled people into account.   If there was an alternative to paypal I would use it..  in fact I do use stripe whenever possible... simply because of the awful screens   I have a Masters in Computing, I've been using computers since before a lot of these developers were in nappies, but they just want it to look like a mobile phone screen.   There is an API maybe we should crowd source a classic view ?   ... Finally the link to the classic view no longer works. This is a Classic (sic) example of a company not listening to its customers. The Classic view was all I wanted and needed to efficiently run my business. As an ex Development manager I find using the new pages offensively inefficient. PayPal is now costing me money. ... How to clear the current sale.

I have been using the android app for some time with no real issues, however I recently swapped to an iPad 4 so that we could scan bar codes when making a sale. It seemed to work well except for some strange behavior. After making one sale, we could not clear the items. we  clicked "clear" just below the list of items we clicked on the item line and clicked remove.   but each time, screen showed "Current Sale" and the item re-appeared in the list of items for that sale. It was most frustrating when trying to take a card payment. in the end, we just changed the value of that line to 0.00 it still appeared it the customer's receipt, but at least they were charged the correct amount. I was unable to select "New Sale" any thoughts ? is there a way of clearing the current sale completely?   When I try to duplicate the problem I am unable to... but if it occurs again when under the pressure of trying to take a payment, it would be helpful to know what to do.       ... So, I intercepted the data and the character codes that PayPal here is sending are   &#x81 (&#129)    and      &#x92   (&#146) so its not unicode or any character set I know ?  ( which would be  &#xa3  ( &#163 ) )   so what code page is this a pound sign in ? ... View more

Well,   You could blow me down with a feather !   I went to add tracking information today using the new view ( I usually switch to the classic view first) I don't know why, I just did..  I only had a couple of tracking items to add so I guess I was just lazy.   Nothing surprising at first..  the tracking entry dialog seemed somehow familiar   but then..   when I clicked to save the tracking data...   THE PAGE THAT CAME UP WAS THE CLASSIC HISTORY VIEW !!!   and it works the same as the old view..  adding tracking opens a new dialog, not a new page..  BRILLIANT   If this is permanent, it is the best thing PayPal have done since I joind back in the dark ages. ... By way of illustration, a simple example of what we face every day.   10 items purchased (mixed domestic and overseas)   3 need tracking information added and to be set to "in process" at the time the tracking information is generated (eg when the tracking label is removed from the roll and stuck to the package)   all 10 will be sent using royal mail   Postage will be applied using a franking machine (because it is considerably cheaper than the online PayPal / RM integration)   so when the items are all delivered to the post office,  the remaining 7 items need to be marked "sent"   and the three with tracking information need the tracking information updated to "sent"   using the classic interface, this takes a total of about 4 minutes   I estimate a minimum of ten minutes for the new interface and more chance of error.   The classic interface leaves a lot to be derired, but the new interface is a disaster.   If the classic interface allowed the selection of multiple items to set to "sent"  it would be almost perfect !   The new interface does not even allow the display of items that have been paid for, but not yet sent ! ...
