PayPal Community

Well, PayPal Paula, I have just found a direct debit in my account for 12.99 a quarter to PayPal which was not agreed by me.  I have cancelled it from my bank and I am seriously considering shutting my PayPal account down right now as well as my bank account and going elsewhere.  Unauthorized payments are tantamount to fraud and I am certainly going to pass this practise on the Office of Fair Trading sometime this week.  If PayPal try and take this money from my account for no good reason at all, then I will certainly put my complaint in to the Metropolitan Police and inform the News Agencies of what is going on.  Don't touch my money unless a) You tell me what it is for, and b) I have given express authority for you to do so with regards to that reason.  I am very angry about this and will do all in my power to have it stopped. ... I have just found the same for £12 .99 per quarter.  This is obviously a magazine prescription of some kind.  I tried the advice of the moderator but there is no merchant direct debit signed up to my PP account  I have cancelled the DD with my bank and will of course be taking this further as there is an obvious fraud going on here I think. ... Thanks Dave.   No, I have used PayPal a good few times before as buyer and seller, but this is the first time I have had this nonsense.  They know that my bank account is mine as it is the only one I use with them, so why all this fuss I don't know.   I need that money in my main bank account to make a purchase, which I may now lose because of this ridiculous delay.  If you google this problem you will find that many people have found the same restrictive practices with customers money.  All I want is my money. ... I am also having to wait for these verification amounts to appear in my bank account.  I telephoned customer services and they said the small ammounts would be in my account by today.  Well, needless to say no show.  This has annoyed me to distraction and it will most definitely be the last time I use PayPal for any further transactions I do on eBay.  Never before, in over 50 years of banking have I come across so much twaddle.     So, in truth, how long does it take before I can transfer MY money to MY regular bank account? ...
