First off, Im a pretty security conscious person. I use alpha numeric passwords, i don't visit shady sites, and i only use paypal far a couple subscriptions and the odd charity or indulgence. September 25, very early in the morning i had 2 transactions go out, worth roughly 450$. When i woke up i checked my email, I saw the transaction and immediately went about locking my account and disputing the claims. My detailed description of the fraud claim somehow dissapeared... so i had to dispute them a second time. Now i really dont know how the "fraud" department conducts an investigation, but the first thing i would look at is spending habits... if a user hasent ever spent more than 100 dollars on any given day and for the most part, any given month... why would that user spontanoiusly way up at 3am on a satarday morning and fill out two checks to two different people for 230 bux with the titles "Here u go", and "Here's your money". I might also check some ip logs... and notice that user has only used his paypal account from one common ip address for the last 5 years. Lastly i might check the currency, if the user has converted every last transaction to american for a service.... does it not strike you as odd that a german named koer de boers recieved money in **bleep**ing CAD So i got an email from the fraud department saying they sided with thieves. I have no means to appeal. Nobody from the fraud department contacted me and asked a single question. I got bent over and they didnt use any lube. Does anybody know how the **bleep** to cut thru some red tape and **bleep** at someone in person?
